    We’re thrilled to share that Karen Hawkins is one of the featured artists in this year’s The Contemporary Austin Art Dinner.

    Her custom 8-foot totem, Withdrawn, is composed entirely of women-authored books that have been banned or challenged in the United States. The sculpture stands as a monument to silenced voices and censored narratives—a powerful reflection on the enduring impact of restriction and resilience in storytelling.

    Withdrawn is available for bidding through The Contemporary Austin’s online silent auction, open now through November 8th.
